01mar6:00 pmHammer Of The Ozz: The Music of Black Sabbath & Led ZeppelinThe Canyon – Montclair

Event Details

“Hammer of the Ozz” (HOTOZZ) perform music by Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin with powerful performances featuring accomplished musicians; Guitarist Lisa Rae Black vocalist “Big Dave” Johnson, bassist Paul Forrester and Greg Gordon on drums. The band is based out of Joshua Tree, CA.

HOTOZZ are not a tribute band, they perform and celebrate the amazing sounds and thunderous tones of Sabbath and Zeppelin as well as original music from their 2020 debut album “Hot as the Sun” recorded and mixed by David Catchings (Queens of the Stone Age, The Foo Fighters) and Ed Stasium (The Ramones and many, many more) at famed Rancho de la Luna recording studio in Joshua Tree, CA.

ABOUT THE NAME: The band’s name was inspired in part, by the biographical book “Hammer of the Gods” about Led Zeppelin (S. Davis 1985). The “Ozz” portion refers to Black Sabbath front man Ozzy Osborne.

Drummer Greg Gordon is one of the best rock drummers to come out of L.A., fresh off a tour opening for “Blink I82” Gordon moved to the Hi-Desert to find his place in the sun. Coupled with the super talented Paul Forrester (The LPs) on bass, HOTOZZ’s rhythm section is the most exciting and thunderous rocking the circuit today. Guitarist Lisa Rae Black (The Pandoras, bellylove (featured on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, AC/DC tribute touring act Helles Belles) spotted vocalist “Big Dave” Johnson at Pappy & Harriet’s on a chilly Sunday night performing “The Immigrant Song” and knew instantly she had to join forces with the most amazing rock voice she had seen since Chris Cornell.
