Leonid Vorobyev, born in 1954, grew up in a small town in Siberia, in USSR – behind the Iron Curtain. His endless passion for music started in making his own first electric guitar and transcribing the records of American bands at the time to his training as a choir conductor and his vast experience music production with over 25 years working as a studio sound engineer in his later years.
After recording and producing stellar tributes of multitude of Chicago hits, Leonid & Friends took on the reproduction of jams by other horn bands like Earth, Wind and Fire, Steely Dan, Tower of Power, Blood Sweat & Tears, Lighthouse, Ides of March and more – further broadening their reach and audience across the globe. They have redefined the term “tribute band” into something totally new that can only be called a “Renaissance Band”. Their legions of fans praise Leonid & Friends for truly bringing back to life the golden hits from 60s and 70s that are incredibly true to the original.

Their performances have been recognized and praised by industry legends, including Robert Lamm and Danny Seraphine of Chicago, as well as Nigel Olsson (Elton John’s drummer), Greg Bissonette (Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band), Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Randy Brecker, Richard Carpenter and David Foster – to name a few.To date Leonid & Friends has amassed over 300 million views on YouTube.

Among the top talent that Leonid has gathered in this project is Ksenia Buzina – a female vocalist with angelic voice who added a special touch to all the vocal harmonies and who was able to channel the voice of Karen Carpenter in their cover of “Superstar”.

Leonid & Friends’ 2025 U.S. tour, aptly named “The 2025 or 6 to 4 Tour”, takes their unparalleled Chicago tribute performances combined with the best from Earth, Wind & Fire, Steely Dan, Tower of Power, Carpenters and more, across North America. This extensive tour will showcase the band’s remarkable ability to recreate the magic of classic rock while continuing to build bridges between cultures through the universal language of music.
